Generation Freakshow charts at 13
Feeder’s new album has entered the UK albums chart at a very respectable 13th; the third highest new entry for the week and a full three places up on previous album Renegades. Maybe you’re thinking we’ve got some kind of witty remark lined up for the guff currently occupying the top 10. Well we haven’t. Only despair. Lots and lots of despair.

Generation Freakshow No.1 in the Amazon Download Chart and No.4 in the Official UK Midweeks
Looks like Amazon’s album of the week promotion for Generation Freakshow is working its magic – Feeder’s new album is currently sitting at number 1 in the Amazon MP3 Chart and an even more impressive #4 in the official UK midweek album chart. We recall Renegades having a similar impact on the midweek charts before eventually slipping back to a respectable #16, but hopefully the Amazon deal will keep the momentum going for GF. Look out for chart updates and our album review at the end of the week.

Watch the new Children of the Sun Video now
Feeder have released the video for their upcoming single ‘Children of the Sun’ (right), which will be released a few days before the new album on 23rd April. Needless to say, we like it a lot – mostly for Damon’s epic beard. No news yet on how or where you can purchase the single, but it was initially indicated that it would be available on download and limited 7”.

Saturday 7th April 2012
Generation Freakshow Bonus Tracks and how to get them
Feeder are offering two bonus tracks for those pre-ordering the new album Generation Freakshow. ‘Miles Away’ is an iTunes exclusive track that comes with a complete album purchase, whilst ‘No Light’ will be available for those purchasing a November gig ticket and pre-ordering the album at the same time. Meanwhile, Recordstore.co.uk are offering a chance to win a signed guitar if you pre-order from them.

There’s no word on whether or not these bonus tracks are ‘timed exclusives’ and will be made available later to fans who have already pre-ordered the album from a different outlet, or dislike the idea of having to buy multiple albums and gig tickets to be able to hear them, but hopefully they will be made available to all at a later date. Either way, we’ll keep you posted.

Tuesday 7th February
Borders Charts at #52
New single Borders reached number #52 in the Charts this week, after briefly threatening to break into the top 30 during the mid-weeks. It was the second highest new entry in the charts which is pretty good considering Big Teeth’s limited budget and lack of radio airplay.

Tuesday 31st January 2012
Borders Out Now – But also sold out
Feeder’s latest single; the brilliant ‘Borders’ from the upcoming album Generation Freakshow is out now to download from the usual places, but fans who left it late to pick up hard copies of the CD, 7” and cassette will now have to look to eBay as the single has completely sold out.

Borders has topped this week’s iTunes Rock Chart, but it’s worth noting that 7digital are offering the EP (four tracks) for just £1.29. Go there now, if you haven’t already.

Saturday 14th January 2012
Pre-order Generation Freakshow now
"British rock institution Feeder return with ‘Generation Freakshow’ - their 8th studio album on April 23rd.

Classic Feeder with an updated twist, the album is twelve tracks of masterfully-crafted, fresh sounding strong songs, drawing from metal, grunge, punk and classic rock - absorbed and melded together as unmistakably Feeder."

You can pre-order the new album now from Recordstore.co.uk.

Friday 30th December 2011
Listen to the 30-second Borders preview on 7digital
Good news for fans without iTunes who haven’t yet heard the 30-second Borders preview – you can listen to it now from 7digital and maybe even drop a pre-order while you’re there. If you’re more of a physical format kinda guy/girl, you’re better off heading to Recordstore.co.uk, where they’re offering a nice little bundle of all three formats (CD/7”/Cassette) for a fiver. However, they do charge nearly £3 postage! Don't say we didn't warn you!

Saturday 10th December 2011
New album to be called ‘Generation Freakshow’
“On January 29th 2012, British rock institution Feeder return with new single 'Borders', which will be followed by 'Generation Freakshow' their 8th studio album on March 26th. A classic and invigorating rock anthem dedicated to freedom and escape, 'Borders' is bolstered with Feeder's trademark; irrepressible choruses and huge tidal wave guitars. Released across limited edition CD single, 7" vinyl and retro cassette, all formats feature new and previously unreleased b-sides.”

That’s right, Generation Freakshow. Quite an unusual title for a Feeder album, but do you love it or hate it? Either way, you can discuss it here.

Wednesday 7th December 2011
New Tour, New Single Announced
Feeder have confirmed that they will be playing four shows in January and February in Exeter, London, Coventry and Inverness. The new single, ‘Borders’, which features three brand new B-Sides, will be released on January 30th and is available to pre-order on CD, 7” and retro cassette now from the band’s official website.

Even more exciting, the band will be releasing a four-track digital single before Christmas which will include acoustic versions of both Borders and Side By Side.

Feeder go X-Rated for Renegades video
The masked ‘balaclava girl’ from the Renegades album artwork and Call Out video marks her welcome return in the new video for the upcoming Renegades single, out on August 30th – and this time she’s more in the nip than ever, with the video featuring frontal topless nudity, as she tears up the place with her baseball bat and angry like demeanour. The ‘news’ was broken by The Sun (who else) and is now available to view online.

Obliviously, we here at FFS are both appalled and disgusted by the new video and/or any other type of nudity. Click here to see more.

Website Updates
You might have noticed, FFS has had a new lick of paint. What’s new? Well, nothing really... it’s a bit like when they move all the aisles around in Tesco and you can never bloody find anything. What’s that Sir? Well the eggs are now where the bacon used to be, and the toilet rolls are in the car park.

It’s not all bad, our videos our now in HD (high-erish detail) and we’ve added some nifty new little ‘virtual booklets’ to the album pages that will probably take about twenty minutes to load. We hope you enjoy the site.

  14. I remember that the fans had a petition to "shatter" become a single. Do your bit, not try to do something similar for "No LIght" is commercially available. And not only on Itunes, because in France, Itunes doesn't know Feeder. I imagine that many no-British fans are in my situation.

    (Posted on 2013-02-03 20:35:00 by )
  15. Yeah, near the end of the Glasgow gig, Grnat did specify they were going to take some time out and work on anew album. After the last few I would be suprised if they called it quits now, they have so much left to offer!

    (Posted on 2013-01-05 15:07:00 by )
  16. About the end of the group during the concert in Glasgow, Grant said: "We're not finished yet"!

    (Posted on 2012-12-20 19:35:00 by )
  17. yeah i heard the hint as well...cant imagine feeder giving up ..even though it must be monotonous for them when on the road for months..in fact they cant give up because they keep coming up with great stuff unlike other bands who have been around for a while "renegades" was a superb album and the new one is class...i watched them at pompey guildhall and the version of descend was mental... tony portsmouth

  18. Feeder were anazing in Portsmouth on Tuesday. Was Grant hinting at the end of the band? :-(

  22. I bought new Feeder album today and I am in love with it! Feeder is a legend for me and always will be. Their songs are so thoughtful, deep and honest. I am their big fan since Echo Park and I honestly can say that I admitted all their albums include RENEGADES. This is Feeder and I know it. Their songs help me to believe in better days, they help me to take the emotions as they comes. I am very pleased to know this great band, Grant (as we all know) is genial lyricist. Love you FEEDER ! :-*

    (Posted on 2012-07-08 17:57:00 by )
  23. so, just read your review of GF, and i have to say that i agree with most of your comments. i didnt like renegades, save for 3 or 4 tracks, but was of course still looking forward to this. funnily enough i can relate to the way you started your review. listening to the album made me think about feeders back catalogue too, but probably for different reasons than you. its just, it made me remember why i fell in love with feeder in the first place. the way i felt the first time i heard one of their songs, the joy and anticipation of looking forward to a new record. and its just nice to get that feeling again from one of their records, after what was their worst(well, for me anyway) the beatles may be the best band ever, radiohead may be the modern beatles, there may be more sophisticated and "serious" bands out there, but that doesnt matter. the point is not trying to compare feeder to those kinds of bands, because theyll always come up short(lets not kid ourselves please;) ) but sh*t, its feeder, and i love them.

and i can even smile at the b-sides they once again left off in favour of lesser tracks...stick on "arms" or "along the avenues" instead of idaho and...oh well^^ damn, how good would "pushing the senses" have been with "shatter" and "victoria", and minus "pain on pain"? ;)

anyway...you say someone who didnt like renegades wont like tracks 7-11...well i didnt like it and i have to say i LOVE tracks 7-11 :D

i dont know why, but lines like "out of the city streets, how could i ever leave" just make me smile, and i just love the way the track keeps pushing. "sunrise" has definitley got an echo park thing going, which is great, and "in all honesty" and "headstrong" are just great, fun tracks. but "children of the sun" one of feeders all time best? hm, im not too sure about that jet, maybe have to give it a few more listens.

you used to have reviews for every album, why did you take them out? always enjoyed reading your views, like i have with this review. thanks for the read, and thanks feeder for the tunes. cheers

  34. Grant, I love your music. I would love to learn how to play your songs and I'm sure many others feel the same way. I've tried to look up tabs just learn your songs but all Feeder tabs appear to be blocked. I've bought your albums and I'm not planning to play to paying audiences or make money off you, so can you not allow your fans to try to learn how to play the songs they love? I'll never be as talented as you and am not good enough to learn your songs by ear alone, so how about letting me see some tabs? Please?

    (Posted on 2010-10-26 10:13:00 by )
  40. Can't believe the amount of hate for this album, it's loud, it's back to roots and it gets a crowd going. Really disappointed by people telling the band what they should and shouldn't do.
Keep up the good work Feeder!

    (Posted on 2010-07-19 18:54:00 by )
  41. I've been out of the Feeder loop for a while, being in the States for a couple of years and moving away from music a bit before that.. now back in the UK I saw them again the other night and I am falling in love with Music all over again. Thanks boys, wonderful.

    (Posted on 2010-11-06 02:39:00 by )
  42. The artwork for album is proper cool, although I still don't have mine yet. Can't wait until tomorrow, I think this will be Feeders best album ever...!

  45. who were the support band prior to feeder at the roundhouse on sunday

    (Posted on 2011-02-21 12:10:00 by )
  46. Cape Fear and Morning Parade were supporting last night at The Roundhouse.

    (Posted on 2011-02-21 12:40:00 by )
  47. Couldn't agree more nick.
People say its back to their roots but it isn't. Most of the songs sound like crappy nirvana imiatations.
The amount of songs grant writes there must be some gems that aren't released and their must be some, like on the renegades album, that make it.
I love Feeder, i really really do, but its so hard to see the positive side from this album. It charted at 16 and then the next week plummeted out of them.
One more record guys and if thats no good, then maybe its time to call it a day.

    (Posted on 2010-07-20 14:30:00 by )
  48. i think the new album is just for fun!
the realy NEW album will come in october. the sound of renegades is hard´n´heavy like the ultimate "pictures of pain" yeahhh! BUT, the lyrics...oh, oh.
grant is so a good songwriter ( ywts, paperfaces, just the way...and more).
the new album is for me only a joke!
    WAITING FOR THE NEXT ALBUM.

    (Posted on 2010-07-21 13:15:00 by )
  49. Loving the new website guys, looks great! Really liking the album books

    (Posted on 2010-07-01 08:17:00 by )
  50. the new album is the way forward.. drop the name feeder for RENEGADES you know it makes sense

    (Posted on 2010-08-07 13:41:00 by )
  51. @H - how can you complain that 'The End' is a rip off of Nirvana? It's more like a creative ode to Nirvana, not a rip off... just because they may have come up with that sound before, doesn't mean no other band can ever use that style. It's good to share.

    (Posted on 2010-07-27 18:42:00 by )
  52. any video footage of grant smashin his guitar at the download festival? ivve been lookin EVERYWHERE!

  54. The drummer was Damon Wilson and you can visit his website here

    (Posted on 2011-02-14 14:14:00 by )
  55. i remember first time i heard feeder it was on a football compilation on a pirated ps2 disk just the way and feeling a moment i loved those 2 tracks i decided to listen to their other stuff i remember i first head just a day i was absolutley gutted really but then i gave it a few listens i was like hey thats not half bad! its fuc*in awesome! same went to all of feeders harder stuff i listened to swim and polythene at first i was like how can the fans worship such crap songs i gave it a few listens i was like damn! thats amazing AND SAME GOES TO RENEGADS so to all the the idiots who dislike the album give it a few more listens and ull like it :) if u dont then who cares FEEDER STILL AND WILL BE THE BEST BAND IN MY EYES! and to that idiot who said somethin about feeder callin it a day i say u can go to hell :D

    (Posted on 2010-08-18 05:45:00 by )
  56. yeah...but like i said...the reason i dont like the album is not because of its 'direction' or because 'its not feeder'. i like the soft stuff they do just as much as the harder stuff, thats not the problem. the problem is that i just dont think the songwriting is very good on this album. songs like home, barking dogs, city in a rut, this town and the end are bad songs...and the lyrics are cringeworthy. we all know that grant has had trouble with the lyrics for the last couple of records, but this is a new low i feel. anyway...i still love feeder nonetheless, and am looking forward to the second album.

    (Posted on 2010-07-18 13:51:00 by )
  57. The song writing on this album is so poor. No wonder its plummeted down the charts. The lyrics are horriffic, they mean nothing to nobody.
I am a Feeder fan, i love everything before silent cry, but this album truly is shocking in terms of lyrics. The music is good, but maybe its time grant got some help with the lyrics

    (Posted on 2010-07-18 20:36:00 by )
  58. so...anyone know what that second cd was on that japanese poster that was supposed to come out in october last year? cheers

    (Posted on 2011-01-25 04:24:00 by )

  60. When will renegades music video be out ? Cannot wait
    Adrian

    (Posted on 2010-07-26 12:10:00 by )
  61. hm...am i the only one who doesnt like the new album? feeder are my favourite band...and i love their music no matter what direction they go in. its just...most of the tunes just arent any good, and most of the lyrics are just daft. i like renegades, left foot right and down the river, and maybe sentimental...but the rest...hm. i still love you feeder, but this record just isnt my cup of tea. looking forward to album number 2 in october :)

    (Posted on 2010-07-15 12:00:00 by )
  62. @to all the new album haters

this album in my eyes is terrific, i am the kind of fan who was won over by their comfort in sound, mellow type era music, this for me is the step in the right direction, basically comfirmed the last track 'the end', ok, after about 3 listens of the album, i didnt quite get it, but tunes got stuck into my head at random times, and in time, began to love it soooo much, these ideas are absolutely fresh, the only thing i dont like is the amount of backing vocals used in some tracks, its suits this town brilliantly, down to the river is phwoar, emotive heavy stuff! take my word for it guys, keep listening, best suited if your doing something very intense IE going to the gym, cos it seems people are not being patient enough with this record, all opinions count dont get me wrong, just dot slate the band, that really pisses me off, i'm seeing it here, this is new material!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    (Posted on 2010-07-21 10:07:00 by )
  63. For didz!

Hi, you´re right. This is not a real Feeder album, it´s Renegades. I realy hate "the end" this is just NIRVANA but not Feeder!!! The other songs are good, the best track is "down to the river". I hope the 2. Album in october will be better than this.

    cheers from germany.

    (Posted on 2010-07-18 12:35:00 by )

    (Posted on 2010-07-03 13:26:00 by )
  66. at stephen
i know what mark is talking about, there was a page with a full list of feeder songs, with a discription on each song, and a FFS verdict on each song, i found it pretty good, this was years ago tho, i actually miss it, the link you're talking about stephen is just for albums and ep singles, not song lists

    (Posted on 2010-10-06 08:52:00 by )
  67. New Feeder album rocks

    (Posted on 2010-07-07 10:00:00 by )
  68. So very,very poor.
The whole Renegades thing came across like some tacky american focus group...now hearing the album, ouch!!!
Its hard to criticise the lyrics though, lets face thats never been G's forte (however even I'll admit new depths have been spectacularly plumbed) however musically its not working for me at all and I think its down to the songwriting.
I remember a number of years ago, Mark R saying G was so prodigious a writer that when he went to the toilet he came back with another song. Perhaps its time for G to leave the sh*t where it was created.
Maybe there's one more good record in them however this might just be the time to move on.
My disappointment of 2010 so far.

    (Posted on 2010-07-20 08:43:00 by )
  69. glad to see im not the only one who doesnt like this record :)
    @nick
im not telling anyone what to do. all im doing is stating my opinion of the new album. and i just dont like it, end of. and just in the same way you cant understand all the supposed 'hate'(thats a pretty strong word when it comes to music) towards this record, i cant understand the amount of people who love it and go crazy over it. but its about the music, and nothing else. its not against the band as people, and i am not telling anyone what they should or shouldnt do. all im saying is that there are 3-4 good songs on the album, and the rest is not sooo good. thats my honest opinion. there is no hate there...i love feeder and wish them the very best...always have, always will.
