Borders Charts at #52
New single Borders reached number #52 in the Charts this week, after briefly threatening to break into the top 30 during the mid-weeks. It was the second highest new entry in the charts which is pretty good considering Big Teeth’s limited budget and lack of radio airplay.

Borders Out Now – But also sold out
Feeder’s latest single; the brilliant ‘Borders’ from the upcoming album Generation Freakshow is out now to download from the usual places, but fans who left it late to pick up hard copies of the CD, 7” and cassette will now have to look to eBay as the single has completely sold out.

Borders has topped this week’s iTunes Rock Chart, but it’s worth noting that 7digital are offering the EP (four tracks) for just £1.29. Go there now, if you haven’t already.

Good news for fans without iTunes who haven’t yet heard the 30-second Borders preview – you can listen to it now from 7digital and maybe even drop a pre-order while you’re there. If you’re more of a physical format kinda guy/girl, you’re better off heading to Recordstore.co.uk, where they’re offering a nice little bundle of all three formats (CD/7”/Cassette) for a fiver. However, they do charge nearly £3 postage! Don't say we didn't warn you!

New album to be called ‘Generation Freakshow’
“On January 29th 2012, British rock institution Feeder return with new single 'Borders', which will be followed by 'Generation Freakshow' their 8th studio album on March 26th. A classic and invigorating rock anthem dedicated to freedom and escape, 'Borders' is bolstered with Feeder's trademark; irrepressible choruses and huge tidal wave guitars. Released across limited edition CD single, 7" vinyl and retro cassette, all formats feature new and previously unreleased b-sides.”

New Tour, New Single Announced
Feeder have confirmed that they will be playing four shows in January and February in Exeter, London, Coventry and Inverness. The new single, ‘Borders’, which features three brand new B-Sides, will be released on January 30th and is available to pre-order on CD, 7” and retro cassette now from the band’s official website.

Even more exciting, the band will be releasing a four-track digital single before Christmas which will include acoustic versions of both Borders and Side By Side.

Ignition Festival Cancelled
It’s bad news for Geordies this week as Newcastle’s Ignition Festival was officially cancelled. The festival, in which Feeder were due to appear was set for the go-ahead on Newcastle Racecoure, but cancelled on Wednesday. The organisers will be reimbursing all those who bought tickets. Presumably with Newcastle Brown Ale.

Side By Side Charts at #10 in the UK indie charts
Feeder’s charity single has breached the top ten of the UK indie charts, (in which three of the top four places are made up by Adele...) but managed an all-round less impressive #91 in the all format singles chart.

Still, it wasn’t about chart position and Feeder have successfully raised a considerable amount of money for the British Red Cross Tsunami Appeal, thanks to everyone who downloaded the single.

New mini-album from Dean Tidey
Feeder guitarist Dean Tidey has been busy working with Porcupine Tree guitarist John Wesley on the new mini-album “The Lilypad Suite.” As well as producing the album, Dean also provided the photography for the album’s artwork, and can, of course, be heard on guitars. A full release is to follow in summer and a US tour also commences soon.

Feeder will be releasing their new charity single ‘Side By Side’ on March 27th, in aid of the victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami. All profits will go to the British Red Cross Japan Tsunami appeal.

Rescheduled European shows
Europeans rejoice! Feeder have this week announced their rescheduled European shows – exact dates and ticket information can be found here. Original tickets will be valid for the re-arranged shows, although the band have had to cancel the show in Bilbao, for which all tickets will be refunded at the point of sale.

Limited Edition Feeder Wall Art
"Want some Feeder wall art? Like the thought of having some official limited edition prints taken of the band by photographer Dean Sherwood. Well, now you can. Dean will soon be releasing a Limited Edition set of 10 A3 exclusive black and white prints. The prints date back to the Silent Cry Tour in 2008. Each print will be numbered and there will only be 25 available of each print.

They will be supplied with an Authenticity certificate, have the date, location and even the time the image was taken on them. The prints will cost £45 each, and for the real Feeder/Music Photography lover, a copy of each of the 10 prints in the set can be purchased for the reduced rate of £375. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control Feeder have had to postpone next weeks dates in Portugal, Spain, Italy & Switzerland.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you, all tickets are refundable from the point of purchase or transferable to the new dates which we will announce on Monday.

German Dates Postponed
Feeder have postponed their three scheduled November tour dates in Germany, citing recording commitments and ticket demand as the reason. The dates have been re-arranged for March next year with all existing tickets transferrable or refundable from the point of purchase. New dates can be found below.

New single out in December
According to XFM, Feeder will be releasing ‘This Town’ and ‘Down to the River’ as a double A-Side single on digital download and 7” vinyl on Monday December 6th.

Feeder have also extended their balaclava competition deadline – you’ve now got until December 15th to take a photo of yourself or a friend wearing a balaclava in an unusual place and post in on their FriendFace page.

Feeder go X-Rated for Renegades video
The masked ‘balaclava girl’ from the Renegades album artwork and Call Out video marks her welcome return in the new video for the upcoming Renegades single, out on August 30th – and this time she’s more in the nip than ever, with the video featuring frontal topless nudity, as she tears up the place with her baseball bat and angry like demeanour. The ‘news’ was broken by The Sun (who else) and is now available to view online.

Website Updates
You might have noticed, FFS has had a new lick of paint. What’s new? Well, nothing really... it’s a bit like when they move all the aisles around in Tesco and you can never bloody find anything. What’s that Sir? Well the eggs are now where the bacon used to be, and the toilet rolls are in the car park.

It’s not all bad, our videos our now in HD (high-erish detail) and we’ve added some nifty new little ‘virtual booklets’ to the album pages that will probably take about twenty minutes to load. We hope you enjoy the site.

Japanese Advert suggests 2 Feeder albums this year
JVC Music in Japan are running an advert for Feeder’s upcoming album, and it’s titled ‘Renegades’. The website also suggests it will be the first of two albums, with ‘Renegades’ being released on June 30th, followed by the yet unnamed second album hitting stores later in October.
