On April 1st 2005 the fans of Feeder began campaigning to see the band release their ear-meltingly good Tumble and Fall B-Side 'Shatter' as a standalone single. Regarded by many as the best song since anthems 'Just A Day' and 'Buck Rogers', 'Shatter' was to become the most talked about Feeder song in years and it wasn't long before the Shatter Petition had reached over 1,000 signatures in support of the cause.

Whilst 90% of those who signed the petition to see the song's release already own the track, the passion shown by those campaigning fully demonstrates the want of success the fans have for their band. It also demonstrates the craving many have for the older, rockier, fun-time-Frankie-Feeder music that seems to have been criminally relegated to B-Side status.

After months of campaigning, Feeder finally announced that Shatter would be released as a single on Monday October 10th 2005 along with Tender as a double A-Side on CD, DVD and 7" Vinyl.

But the campaign isn't over. No sir, not by a long shot. The band have listened to us and now it's time to repay them. And it's up to us, the fans to see Shatter become as successful as humanly possible.

How to Help

Buy the Single
Like it or not the UK Singles Charts dictate how successful a band is. Feeder have already enjoyed one top five hit during this campaign and despite the last single 'Pushing The Senses' charting at a woeful 30th, a top 10 chart isn't impossible. This depends on sales of course, particularly during the first week. Make sure you pick up at least one copy of each format (CD, DVD & Vinyl) during the first week and make sure you buy them from a High Street store or retalier which contributes their sales towards the UK Singles Charts.

Plug the Song
Encourage Shatter airplay by ringing up your local radio station. Tell them the Shatter story so far and mention the petition for extra 'this song really is great' effect. Request the song on national radio stations, music channels or play it in your car at full blast with all your windows down. Ian from the UK Street Team board has researched some numbers for you to ring, text and request.

Advertise

Banners, gifs, avators, word of mouth, etc. As always, the Internet's a great place to start. We've got ten brand spanking new Shatter avators and eleven banners below to help advertise the campaign, or you could just make your own and upload them onto the
Feeder Street Team to share with others.

We've also uploaded a full size scan of the official Shatter poster/flyer. The file is quite large so it may take a few minutes to load. You can save the image to your desktop then print it out. Why not print out ten and hand them out to record stores or passers by?

Take the day off work/school

Whilst it doesn't really effect sales or anything, it's always nice to have a day off. October 10th is National Shatter Day and that means it's a religious holiday for Feeder fans. Download your sicknote to get the day off work
here.
